Quick summary

The short version

We only collect what we need to respond to your enquiry, deliver our services, and keep this website running. We don't sell your data. You can ask to see what we hold, correct it, or have it deleted at any time by emailing info@floorangels.co.uk.

Who we are

Floor Angels is a family-run floor restoration business based in Sheffield, established in 2007. For the purposes of UK data-protection law, we are the data controller of any personal information you provide through this website or in the course of using our services.

Our registered address is 2 Carlton Mews, Woodhead Road, Wortley, Sheffield S35 7DA.

What we collect

We collect the minimum information needed to be useful to you. Depending on how you interact with us, that can include:

When you contact us

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • Your phone number (if you provide one)
  • The address of the property if we're providing a quote
  • Anything else you choose to tell us in your message

When you subscribe to our newsletter

  • Your email address
  • The date you subscribed (so we can demonstrate consent)

Automatically, when you visit the site

  • Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited, referring site) kept briefly for security and troubleshooting
  • Cookies — see our Cookie Policy for details

How we use it

We use the information you give us to:

  • Reply to your enquiry and prepare a quote
  • Carry out any work you ask us to do
  • Send you the newsletter, if you've signed up (and only until you unsubscribe)
  • Keep records of work for warranty, accounting, and tax purposes
  • Improve the site and the way we run our service

We do not use your information for automated decision-making, profiling, or to send you marketing about unrelated products.

Sharing your data

We don't sell or rent your data. We share it only with the small number of trusted suppliers who help us run the business, and only to the extent they need it to do their job. Those currently include:

  • Vercel — our website hosting provider (US-based, with EU data centres available)
  • Cloudinary — image hosting for photos shown on the site
  • Our accountant — for invoice and tax records
  • Tradespeople we work with on-site — only the site address and access details, where needed

Where any of these processors transfer data outside the UK, we rely on the relevant safeguards (adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses) to keep it protected.

How long we keep it

We keep your information only as long as we need it for the purposes set out above. In practice:

  • Enquiries that don't lead to a booking: deleted within 24 months
  • Records of completed work: kept for 6 years for tax and warranty purposes
  • Newsletter subscribers: kept until you unsubscribe (one click in any email)
  • Server logs: 30 days

Your rights

Under the UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • Be informed about how we use your data (this policy)
  • Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct data that's inaccurate or incomplete
  • Erase your data ("right to be forgotten") where we no longer have a reason to keep it
  • Restrict or object to certain uses of your data
  • Receive a portable copy of data you gave us
  • Withdraw consent at any time, where we relied on consent (e.g. the newsletter)

To exercise any of these, email info@floorangels.co.uk. We'll respond within 30 days. You also have the right to complain to the UK's data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office, at ico.org.uk — though we'd appreciate the chance to put things right first.

Cookies

This site uses a small number of cookies for essential functionality and (where you allow it) anonymised analytics. Full details are in our Cookie Policy.

Security

We take reasonable steps to keep your data secure — HTTPS across the site, access controls on admin tools, and modern hosting providers with strong baseline security. No system is bulletproof, but if anything ever went wrong we'd tell you and the ICO within the timeframes the law requires.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy meaningfully, we'll change the "Last updated" date at the top and, where the changes affect you directly, we'll let you know by email (if we have your address and a lawful basis to use it).
